Hi steemit!
Today was the birthday of my sister, she turned 21 years old today. To celebrate, we went to a very nice Italian restaurant called Alberto's. It serves modern Italian cuisine and combines old flavors with new techniques.
I was very surprised by the quality of the food, since we don't have many Italian restaurant that actually serve really good food.
This is what I ate:
This was the antipasto, which is the starter in Italian. It was a bocconcino of mozzarella, that was smoked table side over 3 different woods and hay. served together with 6 different textures of tomato. So there was a crispy chip of tomato, a dried cherry tomato without oil, a dried cherry tomato with oil, fresh ripe tomato, fresh unripe tomato and a mousse from tomato. The combination of all the different texture made this dish very surprising and delicious of course.
The main course was a lightly smoked and grilled duck breast, with foie gars, steamed baby spinach and a orange and chestnut sauce. On the side I had the oven baked potatoes and the mixed salad.
The duck breast was perfectly prepared and the foie gras was so soft it just melted in your mouth, together with the sauceeeeeee...... It was PERFECT :)
I really hope you enjoyed today's post :) Let me know what you think about these food posts in the comments!
Have a nice day further Steemit!
