Pine Smoke, Jazzbirds, Etc. (thoughts from a drive)

The sunlight’s what keeps me moving
through these dreadful weeks
anticipation of great freedom
pine smoke, songs issued, from jazz birds’ beaks

solos alighting to greater branches
far above the banal smog
folks don’t realize there are chances
to be taken to jump this sinking fog

better to stay here in this maze?
or burn out with a flashing phase?
or fail, return, to chase their cheese?
or keep on trying come ill, come ease?

There really is no way to change it, in a sense,
whatever you are, that’s what you’ll be
But there are ways to rearrange it, innocence—what you are—can set you free.

The light blasts beyond the mirror
of a thousand of your silly paradigms.
The light is always, always, there
come snow, come sun, come rain, it shines.

This video is just fantastic man! Knew the song but have never seen this! Thanks!!!!!

I've heard it twice lately and thought of you using it for a running song, lame I know. Fuck it.

Nah, it's great all around. Would be a great running song. This was the first time I've listened closely to the lyrics, too. Fucking....WONDERFUL.

Lol, thanks

Whoa mate, your a poet too!
Quality words Graham.

Cheers brother.

@kafkarnachy,you never cease to inspires me with your articles daily.

innocence—what you are—can set you free.

this is a real truth, freedom lies within realization of your reality(whom you really are), nothing can set you free except whom you are: your personality and identity (that is your GOD)

the light(destiny/personality) never dies nor quench, it remains at it's position until you wake up from slumber

Thanks, @mike4christ. Yes!!!

thank you very much

Fine post. Fine poem.

The first verse is a great intro, interesting and catchy. And the final verse resonates so beautifully and even profoundly.

The unique photo adds a great touch. Kudos!

Thanks, @majes.tytyty. Appreciate you taking the time out to read it!

And I appreciate the many Steemians spending time and effort composing good posts with high-quality content.

Let's all keep it up, and continuing developing Steemit until it becomes the one fine platform that many other soc net sites can only wish they could copy.

Yeah. Nice lines of poem. Also, Going science wise, the sunlight keeps us going cos it triggers the act of photosynthesis in plants which in turns give out oxygen which we breathe.

Nice Picture. I see masterpiece photography there.

i enjoy your post ^^! Thanks.

Really nice poem thank you!

I am reading fatalism mixed in with optimism here. Which is great of course, life is a journey of many dimensions, and multiple layers. The only constant I know is that there is always the sun to light our sometimes dreary way. BRAVO!

I love this! It's like a peaceful way of stating some of the same ideas as I was trying to express in my post Transforming Mind Afflictions. Very eloquent, indeed! I shall have to follow you!
