A Boat trip to the Royal Palace

in #photography8 years ago

Dear Friends,

Last week I was very lucky to be invited by my friend who had an extra VIP pass for joining her group at the Grand Place. It was a special day for me to have the opportunity to pay respect at the ceremony for our late King Rama 9th. I was speechless and overwhelmed inside the big Hall.

The quickest way to get there was by 'water-bus' or the local boats along the Chao Phraya River. Rapid changes are taking place along the prime land by the River, many new hotels and condominiums. It's a well known fact that Bangkok is sinking (not as fast as Venice though). The atmosphere on that day was very gloomy and melancholy. I found it difficult to move about in formal long black outfit. Photography was forbidden inside the palace, so no pics!
