Tiananmen Square
During the Mid-Autumn Festival in October, I decided to meet up with a friend that is currently living in Beijing. The Chinese National Day also occurred during the same week. Tiananmen Square is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Beijing and for a good reason. The place actually looks marvelous at night.
Due to the sheer volume of visitors, it is customary to pass through security checks. Nothing crazy; just put your bags on the conveyor belt to pass through an X-Ray while you pass through a metal detector. There are also some police cars and security on duty. I don't blame them, this place is huge and packed.
Here's a portion of the square:
The National Museum
The Great Hall of the People
Monument to the People's Heroes
Commemorating The People's Republic of China
The words read “祝福祖国” which means something along the lines of "Blessed Homeland."
View of the Entrance to the Forbidden City
Portrait of Sun Yat-Sen: The first president and founding father of the Republic of China
I love living in this country. So much to do and see!
Thanks for viewing!

Thanks for sharing! Beautiful!! Do you speak fluent Mandarin?
Thank you so much. Unfortunately I don't. It is enough to get by and have people understand what I want. I hope to become fluent soon.
Welcome to Beijing!
Thank you my friend!
