Hello @quillfire, it is not uncommon to experience this type of mistake when curating on the blockchain. Thanks for letting the other party know that you downvoted her content by mistake. That's usually the first step to take in such situations.
About reversing the downvote, you can easily nullify the downvote by giving an upvote with a voting percentage that is equal or higher than the percentage of downvote given. If the downvote was a 70% downvote, an upvote of 70% and above will cancel it out.
If it was a 100% downvote, nullify it with 100% upvote. Then, you can go ahead to upvote any other post or comment of the author. That's how the author would be able to get the author's reward while you get the Curation reward from the upvote.
