It is hard as a parent because you want the doctor to tell you 'here, take this pill and you will be all better' but in reality, they don't know how to treat it. I think there are too many differences and nobody knows a child like the parent, so I think taking a doctor's advice is OK, but sometimes a parent knows better. My son is very self aware too and can talk openly about how he is feeling, which helps a lot as we can tackle it together. Schooling is an issue, but that is a whole other blog lol
