In Western countries in addition to herbs, juniper is very useful for making tea drinking for health it can relieve joint pain, stomach ache and sore throat. Juniper berry oil has the ability to cleanse and purify the air, the fresh aroma of Juniper Berry essential oil can produce a calming, grounding effect.
In Nepal, juniper played a major part in religious practices. Its branches are burnt as an offfering to perform Puja(prayer) ceremony. The smoke and incense of the burning juniper represents good luck and purification of the area.
Puja Ceremony is very important part for Himalayan expedition such as Mount Everest Expedition to ensure a safe and successful climb. In the Everest Region no climbers or the sherpas are allowed to proceed their climbing and travel through the Khumbu Icefall , until the Puja ceremony is performed. Normally the ceremony is perform by Buddhist monk or Lama (priest)
