There are seven main types of chromosomes found throughout the species. Some species are diploid ie have two pairs of the seven chromosomes to make the number 14 chromosomes. The other is tetraploid which has four pairs of the seven chromosomes making the number 28 chromosomes, hexaploid (6 pairs), oktoploid (8 pairs) or dekaploid (10 pairs).
