A few months ago you helped me to create a spectacular virtual gallery made up of your photographs of man hole covers.
If You Haven't Seen it You'll be Amazed! You can check it out here:
The Old Dog Presents: Your Official Art Exhibit of Manhole Covers!
Would You Like to See The Subject For Our New Gallery?
On my recent trip to the Barolo region of Italy I was amazed by the combination of different paving stones that were used. I really appreciate the time and skill involved in this and how interesting to look at it is compared to asphalt! I tried to create art work by taking pictures of sections of the road.
Here Are My Favorite Road Photos as Art. I Need Yours as Well!
Three different stones: The road is pink granite stones, the borders in dark granite slabs and the white marble is being used to define the pedestrian crossing. I also love the asymmetry and interest that is added by the man hole cover! The work involved in this is staggering and when we present it as art we can truly appreciate it!
Here's another one which adds in a man made paving stone. Lots of interesting intersections and an amazing amount of work! Do you see the art?
Here you can see more clearly the white marble pedestrian crossing!
What Do You Think?
- Do you see the beauty in what is often considered a mundane item?
- Do you also like to see beauty added everywhere possible?
- Can you give me some more pictures of beautiful road sections as art?
Send Me Other Pictures of Beautiful Road Sections as Art!
Please post pictures in the comments of other beautiful road sections as art and I'll reward the best one with 10 SBD!
I hope that you enjoyed this article about "The Mundane as Art. Let's Create Another Gallery!"
Until next time,

Great initiative again @kus-knee! the last gallery was great and can't wait to see the results of this one coming. Namaste :)
Thanks so much @eric-boucher! I would love to see a submission from you! You have so many great pictures!
Thanks, I'm going to go through my photographs and try to find something that falls under your category. You have a good eye for it too and really enjoyed your pictures as well!
Thanks, have a wonderful weekend, keep on taking good care, smiling and thriving on! Steem on and namaste :)
Awesome gallery idea, I'm a huge fan of patterns :)
Here's one from Lisbon, Portugal >
This is just what the Dr. Ordered. I will enter this one officially in the contest but I will also put the other ones form your post in the gallery! It will be spectacular!
Well ol buddy, I guess art is truly in the eye of the beholder! You remind me of my dear friend @silviabeneforti who sees art in everything.
Mamma mia cosa voi? Siamo italiani! Migliori saluti bello!
I think there is always something beautiful in most things which can be considered mundane. Get the light right and the angle and my self portrait can look very good ;)
Jokes aside, I think this is a cool challenge and I am up for it ! I will be back with a picture . Btw what is the deadline ?
I would go out and take some photos but it's pitch dark and also rush hour here so it might be a suicide mission haha
hahaha, yes same with my self portraits.
Please do send some pics!
great opportunity for us!!! This is one of the pics that I took in Lisbon ^_^
I love it! This will look great in the gallery!
WONDERFOUL, I will send you some Photo:-)
I will be so pleased!
This was on the sidewalk in front of a very unique, hand-masonry house on one of my walks in the neighborhood. I didn't take photos of the house because I didn't want to be a creepy stalker, but I took a photo of their sidewalk. 😁
Thanks a lot. If you have more please send them in and we'll make a nice gallery!
Just like our last one!
Very interesting post you sharing @kus-knee.
Yes nice. Is this a public road or a private patio?
Can use public street.
if we looks closer, there will be art every where.
but anyway, your shadow looks scary, seems your neck is hollow.
It's an old cannon ball injury!
Pavement in Las Ermitas (Cordoba)
Oooh nice!
This should have been a hell of a job, but the result is marvelous!
Wow, sore knees and back for sure!
Here's a free use photo I find particularly nice
Very nice!
Great idea. It will be nice place to see different pictures of road sections in different countries. It might show the cultures or architectural aspect of that country too.
You're right, thanks so much!
BEAUTY LIES on the eyes and heart
Nice shots buddy
Thanks so much!
Nice, I will keep my eyes open the coming days and make a picture.. for sure there are many many nice road stones to take pictures of..
I look forward to your photos!
very nice!
Thanks!
@kus-knee,
How about this pattern?
That is a beauty and would look good in a gallery. I'm looking for public roads though! What we would usually think of as mundane and utilitarian. Very nice though!
extraordinary photo. nice photo shot, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for having a look!
welcome to @kus-knee..really, i love your blog.
Very awesome street designing image collection you posted @kus-knee. You have great idea and great competition. What kind of street images do you want? is downloaded or real captures from our countries? However absolutely better post.
Resteemed.
Just look for beauty found in patterns on public streets. Please send them in and we'll make gallery!
That's nice minimalism but I think that it's a washroom not a public street. I could be wrong though! It could still look good in a gallery!
Ok. both o these patterns good for street.

Glad that you like it!
Italians have a sense of art, they know how to make something beautiful. This is the right choice to enjoy, impressively @kus-knee
Thanks for coming. Please send some pics of the beauty that you see on the roads!
I'll send you everything I find @kus-knee
Oooh we'll make a beautiful gallery!
For start :)
Those are actually cool and you could get some minimalist shots from the stones. The theme this time is roads. We need photos of public roads that have been beautifully designed like in the examples that I showed.
I do like the stone work in your shots though!
Tomorrow I will make a new picture of the church for you, with details
If you want to see beauty you will find the beauty! Your pictures remind me of the order in life, what we need sometimes!
Thanks @pepe.maya Please send some pics in. Here are the results from the last time we did this!
The world is always beautiful, only we forget to appreciate its beauty.
You are so right. Any pics to share with us for our gallery?
not right now but if I find one I will share it.
