Every Once and Awhile I get Lucky

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

Some may remember that in the spring of 2017 I started using my DSLR more. I bought a cheap tripod and started reading up on night photography. I had two decent pictures which I posted here, and received some very encouraging words from many people.

After a few personal setbacks this year, I’ve decided to give photography and Steemit another go.

Having an entry level camera, I am very limited as far as control goes. I have a few work arounds for things, and generally need the perfect sky to pull of a good shot. Every once and a while I get lucky though:

I grabbed this shot around 230am from my back yard. Obviously there was some post processing I did, it overall I’m pretty satisfied. I actually this is my best one to date.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I have plans to acquire some better equipment and hopefully I can continue to improve.

Have a great weekend everyone and thanks for reading!

Awesome photo, Tim!

Thank you very much!

Daaamn, dude. I've been using those tips you have me a lot ever since. They helped bunch for shooting the northern lights.

Great to hear! I can’t want to see some more. We should get together one night.

maybe with the Help from Steemit you can by yourself a pretty nice photography equipment..

Excellent idea!!!

Incredible. What is that light in the lower right?

Thank you.
There some homes in that area. That light is barely visible with eye , but the long exposure makes them pop. I actually played with some lighting on a few shots, which I plan to post in the coming days.
Thanks again!
I see you are from Noxen, Pa? I shot this in Hunlock Creek, Pa.
