I noticed a pray mantis on the window today. Initially I was scared. I was told, probably erroneously, that they bite. Anyway this one was outside and on closer inspection I realized that it got caught in a cobweb. I didn’t see any spider around but that’s a very big prey for any spider. The exoskeleton is just there on display now . It could be a collectors item.
The way I knew for sure that it was dead also was the fact that it was turned upside down.
While in the primary school, some friends were good at catching praying mantis with their hands. I never did, because I was not comfortable with that idea. Have you caught one before?
I doubt if she has... She had carried a rather erroneous notion of the insect that the mere sight of it still scared her at first.

Hi, friend! The religious one could have been prey to some predator that only ate its soft structure and left only the exoskeleton.
