Shameless Skies

in #photography8 years ago (edited)

When in doubt, walk outside. One of the true glories of living in a desert valley surrounded by mountain ranges, is that the sky is almost always stunning. It is a rare day, despite the weather, that there isn’t at least a spectacular sunrise or sunset. Usually both. Therefore the “shameless” part, although it is myself, rather than the celestial bowl, that is shameless. Just walk outside, point a camera, and you pretty much have a dramatic shot. Every time.
The Sangre de Cristos (named, in fact for their scarlet “blood” hues ) rise sharply to the east, the San Juans to the west. Whether the sun is rising or setting, the opposite range reflects the glow and one is surrounded by fire skies. Mount Blanca is north and Ute Mountain is south and they both gather any residue auras.

Wonderful view. Very nice job catching that! What did you use to capture that?

When in doubt, walk outside. <-- always good advice. Not only to get a great photo but just to clear your head. Great pics btw.
