I have a serious love for snow, there is just something about it that makes my heart happy. It covers everything in beautiful, delicate crystals that seem to make everything feel so magical.
I’ve been wishing for snow for quite some time, unfortunately my current location never sees snow.
But It seems that maybe the universe knew I needed a bit of a lift in my spirit lately.. and somehow the impossible happened yesterday... yep, snow.
While it was not a lot, it was enough to make my heart happy 😊 and I was also able to go out and capture a bit of the beauty.
Here are some of my favorites, I hope you enjoy.
My heart needed snow, I’m glad someone was listening...
Much Love,
Justine

Hey thank you! <3
Those are so ethereal :)
I love how it can cloak everything and turn everything beautiful
We had to wait long this Winter for it, we have been enjoying the last three wekends but now it's melting into the creeks
I love snow too. When I have the right clothes to be out in it. Since I travel light I usually go to warm places, though. Love the pics, Justine.
Yes, the right clothes are very important! It is really hard to travel light with a parka and snow boots, so I totally get that. Warm places are fun too ;)
Thank you Dave!
Ugh...I want warm weather. Done with snow. I’m an old chilly grump now. Lol
lol! I totally get that.. too much of a good thing gets old. I had grown accustomed to having snow through the winter, so not having it was bumming me out. It is all melted now.. so back to Cali weather! I will try to send some warm weather vibes your way!
I will gladly accept those vibes. It went from like 9 degrees to 60 degrees in a 2 day time frame. Ugh.
Gosh. Beautiful. It does have a way of making the world pretty.
I'll never forget the first time I saw falling snow. I was in England about to return to Australia. Snow was forecast but I thought I'd miss it. I was staying in the woods with my man in his truck (a converted mobile library.. ) and it was our third night together and I was already in love. He woke me to say it was snowing..that he'd called it in just for me.... my heart exploded. All this snow falling, like magic, like love.

That is the absolute most romantic story I have every heard.. holy hell, good choice of a man there! My heart just skipped a beat reading it.. thank you for that <3
Oh, I have a few more up my sleeve, but I won't make you gag on all of them at once - :P xx
My heart skips beats remembering it!
You should visit Alberta this week and maybe rethink your position, hehe.
Stay warm.
Nice photos, though.
hahaha! I know, I know. Funny enough I used to live up near the border.. so I am fully aware about this time of the year the snow is getting a bit old. So, I feel for ya!
We just had one day of a bit of snow here too. The surrounding mountains have plenty still. Snow on the mountains is very important to keep rivers healthy during spring and summer. But I always think how hard it is for small animals out there during the winter.
yes, in fact the snow from the surrounding mountains is what feeds the spring that our well is sourced from.. so very important indeed! I bet you got some lovely photos of it.. I will have to go check Instagram ;) <3
I will still love to experience snow one day
oh hope you get to one day! <3
Oh I so know what you mean, I love winter and the snow ! Its something about how snow silence the world, the colours and the stillness that comes with it. Just magical!
Gorgeous photos! And what a beautiful place you live at. What type are those trees? I love the details in your photos, beautiful.
Yes the silence!! Man on a morning with fresh snow there is this breath taking silence that just is awe inspiring.
Thank you so much! We have a lot of different species of oak trees around, these I believe are mostly black oaks. ❤️
white and nature.. soo cool..
Thank you!
Wow! For a place that never gets snow, your dreams came true while probably briefly! I love to visit areas with snow but could probably never live with it as I am accustomed to tropical weather and conditions.

haha! Yes! It is all melted now.. but it was absolutely beautiful and exactly what I needed.
I am such the opposite, love visiting warm tropical places.. but I need sweater weather! haha.

Thank you spider!! <3 I am glad you got some joy out of the snow too.. I will send snow thoughts your way.. even though I am pretty sure Australia will reject them haha
Nice white russula mushroom.

Thank you! They aren't usual around here but the recent wet weather has them popping up all over. I have a love for fungi too ;)
Some types of russula are edible but most cause upset stomaches. I've never seen a white one yet, if i had to guess it would be a russula delica or russula brevipes depending on your location.

Glad you got your touch o the magic. Living in SoCal for ten years was fun but the thing I missed the most was the seasons. Plenty of snow in the Black Hills this year. -8 and snowing in Spearfish right now.

Beautiful pictures :) I live in a place where snow can be a pain when you need to move it out of the way all the time but still everytime it snows the inner child fills up with happiness!
I used to love snow in a much different way then I do now. We had a HORRIBLE Winter last year that left us without power often, trapped on our roads for weeks and what used to seem like a lovely dusting of white Christmas joy has come to mean more of a bit of terror for me.
I still appreciate it as a dusting occasionally, which is how we used to get it in my area of New England, but that Winter just really got me shell shocked.
It is SO lovely though, I have to admit.
