My travel Pics - Part 1 The Wilderness of Rock

Dear Steemers I’d like to share with you some shoots taken by myself during my travels round the world.

USA, Central and South America, Europe, my beloved Italy and lots of places I hope to visit in the future.

In my #introduceyourself post I said that my big passion is the photography.

I like shooting natural landscapes above all and places where the human presence is discreet. This gives me a sense of quiet and freedom. And I’m fascinated by colors, contrasts, and the impact of great spaces.

I decide starting from my journey in US, a trip between Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, North and South Dakota. And then moving toward California and the west coast pass through Arizona and Nevada. More than 4.000 driven miles, long walks and strenuous hikes along primitive trails, marked only with rock cairns. Daytime temperatures between 80° and 100° F. All to reach outstanding overlooks, sites, geologic features.

Let’s start from Utah and its stunning National Parks. Here’s some views from Island in the Sky in Canyonlands “A Wilderness of Rock”. All pics are taken by myself with my Canon EOS 1200 D.

Driving along the roads of Utah approximately 1 hour away from Canyonlands another wonderful and magical place appeared before my eyes…The Goblin Valley!

Goblin Valley has been sculpted by forces of nature. The results of erosion by wind and water are these gnomes inhabiting the valley..a surreal view!

And still moving, in the heart of red rock country ...Capitol Reef

Great photos! I recently went to the Southwest myself, it's a magical place, especially Goblin Valley. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks to you! Yes I've fallen in love with that places :-)

Stunning photos. I especially love the hoodoos. We have some of those lovely, hatted-column formations here in Alberta, but they're usually yellow instead of red. Thanks for posting!

Thank you. I'm sure your Country is wonderful!
I hope to visit. If you want to share some pics I would be happy of it :-)

I'm actually moving across country next week after living in Alberta for 34 years. I'll be leaving behind my beloved Rocky Mountains. Here's a pic from my iPhone (no retouching, just a caption) from my favourite place on earth - Moraine Lake.

I'll be posting notes and pics as I head from West to East.
Cheers

Wonderful place and wonderful pic! The lake is a mirror and the mountains are so impressive! Thank you for posting :-) Hope to visit your Coutry
