This place is amazing. In the winter, the surfing is fun. In the summer, the water is cool and clear. There are tons of turtles in the water and on the beach. The reef is healthy and full of fish, eels, crabs, and critters. It is not a "beginners" beach but if you respect and understand the power of the ocean.. it is a magical place.

Try the reef on Escudo de Ver Aguas, Panama. Less than ten people have snorkeled or dove that heavenly 100' coral reef.

It is a tough destination. It is Panama's ecological preserve. You catch a flight to Bocas del Toro. Find someone with a boat to take you to Escudo with your gear. Escudo Island has a couple hundred mini islands - one looks like a dragon (much better than Cabo). The reef is beyond what you have seen...just a bitch to get to and experience.
