Over one year later and this orchid looks outstanding. I received this orchid as a gift on Mother's Day 2016. It lost its flowers a few weeks later. However, I managed to get a new stem growing that started flowering about 2 weeks before Mother's Day of 2017!!
I learned that orchids really don't need much attention and even less water. Once the new flower stem starts growing, you need to coax it along by clipping the stem to a stick of some type to keep it growing upward and to support the flowers.
There are still flowers yet to open so I'm expecting to have blooms for at least another month.
Today the sun was shining in the kitchen window, through the flowers, it had to be captured.
I hope you enjoyed the view! Thanks for visiting.
