Klaus Mähring has been a photographer for almost all his life. After more than 30 years of dedication to the medium, he now considers himself to be a well versed fine art photographer and masterprinter.
Traveling wider Europe 'on the road' he immerses himself into quite arbitrary places, people and cultures. The photographs brought back show scapes, portraiture and otherworldly imagery.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT
I've witnessed fundamental changes in photography...
and opted for depth and permanence.
Photography to me is a tool that let's me connect to what I pereceive as true. Each picture is another piece of the puzzle that makes my reality.
This is a vast journey. Only by perceiving things they become real, and only in that moment.
What makes me stop along the roads, get behind the camera and later into the darkroom, are the fragments of my very own world reflected upon my lens, my film and print. It allows me glimpses of my underlying thread. I photograph them so that I can look at them.
"...photography is the visual figuration of a new layer of consciousness – in which new relationships to space and time, and therefore new categories of thought, play, art, and agency are emerging." (Daniel Rubenstein, What is 21st century photography)
