Total Moon Eclipse in Banda Aceh
Photo collage at the beginning, middle, and end of the lunar eclipse in Banda Aceh
The people of Kota Banda Aceh on Wednesday (31/1/2018) night were entertained by the apparent total lunar eclipse in the sky of Banda Aceh city. I got a job from the office of Serambi Indonesia Daily to capture the rare occurrence that happened only once in 150 years.
Peak of the total lunar eclipse
This astronomical wonder called Super-Blue-Blood-Moon began to appear since 19:51 pm and ended at 21:05 pm.
I'm preparing a telescope before taking a picture
I had the opportunity to use Telescope Refractor lens with 900 mm focal length at Aceh Ministry of Religious Affairs Office. My telescope is attached to a digital camera through a special mounting.
To complete a total lunar eclipse, photographers do not need to use a camera with a special filter, because the moon can also be seen with the naked eye in red.
According to Head of Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), this Supermoon occurs because the position of the moon is at the closest distance to the earth because of its orbit position is oval and not a circle.
