In my memory

In my memory, the buildings standing here were associated with the church and the former hospital next door where my dad was born in 1946.
The hospital operated here until 2004.

My dad also recalled visiting his friend who had been beaten up by the communist services, a Solidarity activist. Of course, when one reads about the history of this place, it turns out that on the corner of Łąkowa and Kieturakisa Streets, the Uphagen Manor was built in 1800. After 52 years it was bought by a merchant J. Kuhn and nobly given to the Borromean Sisters for their hospital. With time, the hospital was expanded and a chapel was built, which grew into an independent church.

For those interested in the subject of this manor, I recommend Ewa Budnik's 2017 article on Trojmiasto.pl, where, in addition to the history of the building complex, you can also find photos of the interior of the former hospital.
Recently a hotel was opened in the former hospital and the building regained its former glory.

In J.Gorski's article from cycle "Story tellers of history" you can find the image of original manor house. It did not have a turret with a cross and a bell, which may mislead people into thinking that the building is a temple. I am looking for information about when the tower was added.
