I dropped by Lake Joutjärvi very quickly this morning. I wanted to show you how the landscape has changed from last month. The biggest difference is that nearly all the leaves are gone now. It will probably take another month or longer before we get persistent snow cover on the ground. The freezing of the lakes will most likely take place sometime around Christmas or New Year.
The bushes have been razed to the ground.
Below is a picture from last month when the bushes and the many of the leaves were still there. The atmosphere is completely different in the two pictures because the weather was completely different.
This was taken a couple of weeks ago.
