I attended a talk by food photographer Dennis The Prescott, it was awesome. He's one of the best presenters I've seen. Not just about food photography but a great talk about photography and life goal in general. Very inspiring. So the next morning, I tried this. Not that I want to venture into food photography but I thought I'd see what I could do using his tricks. All natural northern light, using a diffuser to remove highlights. An aperture between 5.6 and 11. A lot of things are missing from such a shot (there wasn't much succulent food available in my house) but it's probably much better than what I would have accomplished before.
