Malta is one of the most beautiful European seaside destinations. Although not very popular among tourists, most of them choosing other exceptional countries such as Greece or Italy, Malta awaits visitors with sunny beaches and untouched human landscapes. Here's what to visit if you're thinking about spending your holiday in Malta:
Valletta
The capital of Malta is Valletta. A gorgeous harbor town with an architecture that combines the new with the old and an exceptional view of the sea, Valletta is one of Malta's sights not to be missed. With the elegance of the sixteenth century still featured in the architecture that had been set up in ancient times by the Maltese Knights, the small Maltese capital was chosen as the European Capital of Culture in 2018. Do not forget to visit the Barrakka Gardens, the National Archeology Museum, the Manoel Theater, the Co- Saint John's Cathedral.
Tarxien Temples
Prehistoric temples dating back to the Bronze Age, Tarxien Temples can provide an educational note on your vacation, here to learn about the past of mankind on the European continent. The Tarxien Temples are in fact a complex of three adjacent temples. Archaeologists have found out that these temples have been used for rituals of sacrifice.
The blue Lagoon
Although the Blue Lagoon phenomenon is not unique in the world, it is quite rare and distinctive with a look from heaven. To see the Blue Lagoon in all splendor, you first have to get to Comino Island, a natural paradise. Once here, you can enjoy the beauty of one of the most beautiful beaches in the world and you can swim in the Blue Lagoon natural pool. Here the blue of the water and the blue of the sky are the most beautiful, painting a holiday picture taken from the views.
St Agatha's catacombs
In the medieval town of Mdina you can visit the St Agatha's catacombs right in the Archaeological Museum of the Catacombs Complex. Here are many vestiges, a scrawl (sculpted in 1728) with a part of the relics of the Holy Mummified Agata and old, extremely valuable frescoes. From the Agape of the Holy Ages they start two passages that lead the Christian catacombs.
Which one would you like to visit the most?
I swam in the Blue Lagoon last year. There were lots of jelly fish, and the current is stronger than you realise. My favourite was Mdina, and the horse and carriage ride the wife, and I took, although I quizzed the guy first to make sure he treated the horse properly.
