you probably would think I'm crazy but one of my favorite things is to sightseeing churches.. I love what you share here with us but you need to remember that every single church have something special to share. My fav is in my hometown (I'm not super religious person I'm mort Art Lover!)
Love all your shots, it was a pleasure to get known better this place with u!
My fav buildings in Europe, I like that it all based on floral and plant motives which is very unusual and the moment you understand it, it fascinates you even more!
I have been there myself and while your pictures are stunning, i have found the pictures really can't capture the majesty of it. But thanks for reminding me what a beautiful place it is.
I will never forget the first time I saw La Sagrada Familia after coming out of the Barcelona underground. I'm not a religious person, but the building had a profound impact on me at first sight. I figured I would spend 20 minutes looking around before I got there -- I ended up spending nearly four hours exploring. In addition to the Gaudi architecture, I was really taken in by the sculptures by Josep Maria Subirachs. I highly recommend checking them both out.
I was there in 2010. I'm glad I went there first before visiting St. Peter's Basilica. Besides La Sagrada Familia (the highlight) I was really impressed by the food in Barcelona
Wow. Thank you for the incredible pictures. Gaudi's opus magnum has been on my bucket list for the past 20years. Hope to go to Barca someday to witness it in all its glory
Absolutely amazing place to visit and a must see. The combination of old and new is stunning. Everyone who walks in looks up toward the mosaics in amazement and so they should. I cannot fathom the hard work and sweat that went into building this unique and monstrous structure.
Excellent work, @mynameisbrian. We have seen exterior many times, but not so much that beautiful interior of Gaudi's cathedral. Upvoted, resteemed & DPS.
"By the power of La Sagrada Familia, I... have.... the POWER" BOOOM.
If some charismatic ever rises up to lead a world theocracy, claiming to be of the family of Jesus, (you know daVinci code and such), I can totally imagine him setting up his world empire right there in that nightmare of a building. The movie is playing in my mind right now and it's DARK.
I visited Sagrada Familia last year. It's really pretty but it also has a very different vibe to it. Almost sinister. Very special, unlike any other church. A must see!
wow that is impressing! heard so much before about this church :D
and i really like you work, maybe you find some romantic alleys and want to contribute in my contest #yourcityvibez

Heres designs for this Church, everything rebuilt fro small scale models!!!
"A reconstruction of one of Gaudi's hanging chain models - which were developed "upside down"."
Heres an amazing photo of spainish streets an buildings around the church, like a microchip
So unbelievable in so many ways--that a city would carry on this vision for 120 years--that they wouldn't cut corners and the best craftsmen work on it!! It blows my mind. When I was there 10 years ago it was a lot more like an outdoor gazebo---the high stone tree ceiling was there though. Did you see the upside down string sculpture in the basement that was the blueprint for the building? The whole idea blew my mind!!!!

Looks beautiful, but I'm telling you La Sagrada Familia has to be seen.
Wonderful city and great pics. Thanks!

Is that thing ever going to be completed?
Will the Steemit UI ever get an overhaul?
True artistry and brilliance in design takes time, I guess.
So TOXIC.

I think just before the Steemit mobile app is released.
OK...so, no.
In the 2030s

Man, it's impressive. I never got chance to see the inside. I've seen it once from outside, though!
This is the creepiest church I've ever seen, it reminds me of the creatures in the movie Pitch Black.
I agree. Chills, and not the good kind.
