Nomad Diaries: Weekly Roundup

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

Bonsoir my beloved Steemians,

Today I am bringing you my very first episode of my weekly roundup!

The weekly roundup is where I share with you the photos that didn't make my Instagram feed of being a nomad.

Not because they're lower quality, but because every influencer and social media professional knows that finding and sticking to your aestethic and industry niche is the number one rule to achieving any level of Instagram "success".

I recently began posting to my Instagram about my travels and my life as a digital nomad (starting when I arrived in Thailand) once a day. People responded very enthusiastically to my photos and captions.

I quickly found my "niche" and all the beautiful female travelers who run breathtaking Instagram accounts and are inspiring those whose circumstances don't allow them to travel as much as they would like. This discovery of travel influencers was like entering a whole new world. I was hooked.

Fastforward to today, it's been a little life changing and I now find myself dedicating daily time to my account. I've gained a few thousand followers in a very short amount of time (almost at 5k!), I've really discovered my visual direction, and I'm about to dive headfirst into the business side of it all. Sponsorships and brand collaborations! I'm not looking to get rich with Instagram and it's becoming harder and harder to become "Instagram famous" anway because I think it's fair to say it's just too late in the game (especially with the app's changes over the last year).

However, photography has always been a passion of mine and my Instagram account is an extension of my lifestyle which is a reflection of my identity. And by sharing this, I've connected with like-minded people, which is really where the magic of social media happens. Not the attention, not the compliments, not the amount of likes, not the free goodies. I've made some of the most amazing new friends. I realized that I was not the only weirdo out there and have a lot in common with a many of my fellow traveler girls. I genuinely began to feel a sense of community, which I haven't always in my life.

So with a bit of context added, let's look at the photos that I love from this week!

I am also sharing this series with you because I would love to hear other opinions and visual tastes from outside of Instagram. My editing style varies quite heavily, and since I'm sticking to one aesthetic on my Instagram feed, this is a great opportunity to share a "different side of me" (editing wise) and hopefully make some more connections?

Thanks so much for reading this! If you find any photos you like, I would be so happy to receive some ♡
