I was fortunate enough to see the larches change color this year (first time). It is a unique beauty, one that everybody should try to witness at some point. Larches are one of the very few conifers turn and lose their leaves in the winter.
I had the pleasure of backpacking through forests of these last fall. Felt like something out of a fairy-tale..
