I think there should be a poll to see where people are working to deem this 'safe for work', because if you are doing porn shoots, of course this is safe for work lol. I think the term "NSFW" people sadly automatically just think pornography, which is not the same as "Not Safe For Work"

I would definitely make a strong argument that a Victoria's Secret catalog wouldn't really be safe for work either in most places.

If you put stuff likes this in a NSFW tag it will be hidden from view and lumped in with porn and it's not porn and it not fair to put work likes this in with porn and force people to have to wade through looking at porn posts to see something you can see in a mall. We need multiple categories or people need stop being such puritans and harping on this NSFW issue.

  1. You should not be on Steemit or FB or IG at work people if it not part of your job. So this whole NSFW is B.S. as you should working not surfing the web looking at articles.

  2. The non-sense argument of "Protecting Children" all over parts of Europe they have nudity on TV, signed, commercials etc... They have lower STD rates and teen pregnancy rates, lower rape rapes as well (until the refugees came in from a culture that had no nudity). Meanwhile in the U.S. where we have the Anti-nudity mentality we have higher rates of all of the above. There was also a study done years ago before the internet became popular and Utah had the highest rape stats in the U.S. they also had no adult magazine or no access to adult or nude material.

So this issue needs to be put to rest already. I will continue to use the same posting procedures that I used on FB and IG meaning unless there is full nudity i.e. it shows nipples, genital or anal areas I'm not labeling it NSFW unless there are official guidelines from Steemit that make hard rules.

This is what is used on FB, IG, Ebay and there is no reason to make Steemit more restrictive and hamper it's growth. Which it will absolute do.

You bring up a good point in #2

It's (mostly covert) sexual suppression, through media, education, religion, parental upbringing, etc. that causes the bulk of sexual deviants. It's not natural to feel shame for one's sexuality or sexual preferences, yet western society seems to place extreme emphasis on slapping wrists for having sexual thoughts/ feelings.

It's the same with many of the extremely religious types. Anything that we're inclined to be attracted to, out of our very nature, they treat it as if it is evil/ sinful. It's a massive, nearly world-wide, case of self-sabotage!

It's actually gross.

I totally Agree!

They are indoctrinated to suppress natural sexual desires and attack try to censor anything even remotely sexual. Yet Globally it's proves they are doing more harm than good.

I will step back from the argument of what is considered NSFW or not or what that means for the sake of being able to discuss this other point. I would love to see some analytics on the NSFW tag. I think the people that are looking for NSFW content would be more pleased that the tag is being used and are able to easily find that kind of content. I believe that when people see the NSFW tag, if they are not at work or school or the other many places they shouldn't be browsing the Internet for fun or whatever reasons, I believe they click and expand more often than they do not.

Btw, as someone who lives in America currently, it is a very sad state of affairs that love is censored and war is easy content for children's cartoons. You'd be surprised that I may be more on your side with ideals on this topic, but as how this site is run without little things like 18 or up checkboxes in every users settings and back ends, for the sake of Steemit's growth in this early time, I believe Victoria's Secret is NSFW and NSFW does not equal pornography, and I hope others agree. Not all erotica is porn. Crap, I got back on the thing I didn't want to discuss lol. Just read your other post btw, whatever you choose on staying or going here, being part of this website in it's first year you can be understanding and patient as things are being figured out and people are casting their votes on what they want contentwise on this site.

I mean it's not safe for general office work. Most people don't watch TV while working, nor in malls.

Surfing the web, reading articles, doing anything other than your job is NSFW and is stealing from your employer if you are to be honest and technical about it. You can read my response to the question above. So this whole NSFW is non-sense and a bad term as you should not be doing anything at work but working.

Go to the the Victoria's Secret in a mall and look at their pictures on the front of the store and inside. So what I post with out a label is in line with general standards in a mall where people of all ages go and even tamer than what VS shows in some of their stores as they have stores with full nudity on the walls here in Vegas.

You're welcome to your opinion but it's out of touch with reality and the world of today. And Steemit following those rules will hamper and slow it's growth. But please stop coming here to complain about me not using the tag on work that is acceptable by the standards of massive multi-biillion dollar companies that dominate both the market place and social media. Even Amazon allows bare breasts.

Good points.

You might not have to worry about much longer because if my work does not start getting $$$ I feel it deserves I'll be leaving the site...

Seriously I have put a lot of time and work in to Steemit and in to my work as well as I always do. But when I see my posts with 150 votes but at $6.00 or some of my favorite images at .24 or or a series at $3.00 I lose intereste and realize it's a waste of my time.

I went to a new years party and got the whole crowd together and pitched them on Steemit. And told them I was going to help people get started. But if this community is not going to support my work I'm over it. There is way to much whale dependence there is way too much discussion about something considered acceptable on every major site should be labeled "NSFW" on here.

If the whales want to starve me out by not upvoting my work... I'll be happy to leave because the last thing I need is to come here to be insulted by .24 on a image that was published in Playboy while mediocre posts do better because they are buddies with the whales.

Question have you ever upvoted any of my work or should I just remove you from my witness vote as I only support people that support me.
