THE ELMINA CASTLE(500years old Now)

The Elmina castle is 500years old Now but still stand strong and beautiful.
Indeed, slave trade was real especially in Africa and in my Country Ghana.
The castle was built by the Portuguse in 1482. It was later taken over by the Detch and finally by the British.

the castle consist of many sections but the most important ones that I want to show you is the
THE CONDEMNED CELL.
I practically entered this room for 2minute and it hell. The heat wasn't easy this shows how my ancestors suffered in that cell. History says that, those who were put in that cell were those who try to fight for their right.

THE FEMALE DANGEON

Over 600 women were kept in this room. No bath, no brushing of teeth and some were raped by the gorverners.

THE MALE DANGEON The male cell has an exit to the sea shore were The boat pick the slaves to were ever they are sending them.

DOOR OF NO RETURN As the name implies once you pass through that door, you are not coming back. Also no matter how fat you were, You will grow learn to be able to pass through that small door.

Any time you are free, please do your best to visit historic places, it help you to learn and know more about the past. Elmina was great and I also had alot of fun. Great things have happened in the past ,now is our time to know and learn.
