Butterflies: Peacock

Rain is pissing down from a gray sky outside as I post this.

To make sure I don't forget what summer and blue skies and proper daylight are like, I'm going to do a short series on butterflies in The Netherlands, starting with the European peacock (Aglais io), dagpauwoog in Dutch.

Not a rare butterfly at all, this one, but a real looker:

Had door, um, omstandigheden wat geld nodig, en dan is het een goed idee om te verkopen als het hoog staat. Of ik blijf posten hangt af van de verhouding ergernissen/plezier. Geen gebrek aan ergernissen hier, maar so far, so good.

Europe and Asia only, so don't go look for it 8-). The next one in the series is fairly common in the USA as well, I think.
