Out of season

in #photography7 years ago

Generally, autumn is the season for mushrooms in The Netherlands, but this one I saw two days ago seemed to be doing well:

Olympus Stylus 1s, 42mm, ISO800, f8, 1/50s

If you know what kind of mushroom this is, please let me know in the comments.

I'm somewhat sure it's a species of the genus Russula. I can't really tell the exact species from this photo, unfortunately.

@codypanama was asking about a mushroom that looks slightly similar to that one on my recent mushroom post (in the comments). However, I think his is of a slightly more ethereal strain! lol

Sorry, I have no idea what the mushrooom @codypanama found is.

Great shot! nice.

No clue what it is. But he definitely enjoys the weather and the pretty moss around :)

Yes, it does look very comfortable 8-).

Who wouldn't love a lay on the mossy softness? He looks right at home.

The top reminds me of a nebula!!:-) Makes me long to see a few of these in a pot covered with seasonings!! Hopefully it is edible!:-P

I have no idea if it is edible 8-). My guess is that it isn't.

Nice subject. I like the angle. Wish I knew more about mushrooms. Like eating the store bought ones.

Safest way of eating them 8-).

I have posted a blog about an Orange Moon today . I request you to take a look if you have time and are interested. I would love to get your comments. Thanks

Berries starting to grow too early in some parts of the globe, mushrooms out of season... All signals that there's something out of balance all over :/

I thing so many kind of mushroom has growth across of the world. I have ever hear that mushroom effected by area and season. I have seen a semilar patten and slightly different with color, it's has no black color above.

It's eatable :) In Rusiia it's name "syroezhka" :) Probably dificult for nonrussian :)

Thanks for telling me! Сыроежка, yes?

That a great shot of a very nice mushroom.

Thank you.

As always, I love your consideration of not only the mushroom but its environment as well @ocrdu. Beautifully captured. Not familiar with this species but it doesn't look quite as menacing as some. 🙏🐋🙏

Beautiful and huge.
