Photography series- Own work (Part 1)

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

Dear Steemians, after getting a warm welcome from the community on my intro post, Ive got the encouragement I need to put up a couple of more posts on various topics like photography, hiking, travel, hotel and destination reviews. As with regards to today’s post, its just a couple of shots of flora and fauna I had taken around Mangalore. Will keep putting up more photos in the next couple of days as well.

First photo is a couple of Nun birds (a species of Finch Im told) as I call them right outside my bedroom window

The next photo is of a common brown kite taken on the outskirts of Mangalore. The bird is a common sight around the coastal areas around Mangalore and is a scavenger by nature.

Being a coastal town, we are never in shortage of crabs on our beaches. This is a shot of a young crab peeking out of its burrow.

A close up of a mildly venomous (but harmless to humans) Green vine snake found snaking around my granny's house. These shy creatures, are mostly found camouflaged like a vine on the branches of trees. Since it was on the move and the light conditions were far from ideal, couldn't get a clear shot.

And to finish off my post today, heres the shot of a common sight in India, stray cows. These are usually cows that have been abandoned by farmers who are not able to take care of them anymore or who have just jumped the fence and escaped.

Hope you guys enjoyed that, more to come soon. Tell me what you thought about it in the comment section below and what type of photos you guys want to see in the next photo series and I will try putting that up. Cheers!!!

yea @christina.red... Patience and timing are two things one needs for wildlife photography. Especially birds as they move faster than mammals.
