Fake Architecture

in #photography7 years ago

I saw some posts for the architectural photography contest today. It's not that I want to participate but it's just a different and interesting topic for my post.

When we talk about architecture we usually have in mind serious and important buildings. Artworks from a certain era or a famous person.

But there is also another branch of architecture. I don't know how to call it.

Plagiarism or maybe fake architecture. Whatever.

I know that I already made a couple of posts about Global Village in Dubai, but I have many photos and I'm sure you want to see them.

Most of today's are entries to pavilions dedicated to the certain country.

I'm sure you've recognized the matching country.

The designers tried to mix half of the world in one street. They were carried away a bit in my opinion, but we're not here to judge. It's an amusement park, after all.

As you can see tourists like this kind of parks and enjoy their stay. They recognize the familiar structures and they feel welcomed and comfortable.

They are willing to spend money and that's the main purpose of building such places.

I hope you like the photos regardless of fake art presented.

Have a great one, my dear steemians.

Great places to visit

Awesome lighting effect in all pictures.

You right. Without lights, it would look empty.

wow this is so nice.

Awesome photos, thanks for sharing! :)

beautiful architectures good job impeccable i liked that

These are insane. I'm so jealous of your travels all around the world.
So wonderful you can do that and so amazingly beautiful.

Beautiful countries, but I have always wanted to visit Egypt and all the beautiful pyramids and all the statues.

Thank you for sharing. So beautiful

Never say never. Maybe someday you'll go there.

I love these photos,,,,,reminds me a bit of Disney's Epcot. You can leave feeling like you did a world tour in one day! Itt must have been such fun to be there! Tip!

Yes, it was. Thanks.

photography that has meaning, this architecture I have not seen before, I am very happy to see it.@oldtimer.☺️

It reminds me on Las Vegas. You can find everything there, but noting original :)

Las Vegas is on my list too but not on top for now.

what is the name of the guessing one ?

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

All the photographs are spectacular, but what I call the attention of my eyes is the ilmination that you captured in each photo, it becomes beautiful both for architecture and for lighting. Congratulations.

You right. the lights are spectacular.

These all are perfect shots at perfect timings. If you had shot them in day time then it wouldn't be that much luring. I love to read your traveling stories.
Have a great day.

They open only in the evening because it's too hot at the day. And it's even closed in the summer months.

Fotografias de estos lugares nos demuestran que Dubai es un paraiso y lo mejor es que todas estan en un solo lugar. Saludos @oldtimer

I think you might call it derivative architecture. Still cool though:)

Good idea. Thanks.

photography is very good @oldtimer

It is interesting that we pay for the illusion of knowing mere imitations of famous places. Excellent photos dear friend @oldtimer

Thank you.

Great nighttime photos of the lighting design for the buildings and the arches! I would call this tribute architecture because it pays homage to the original creations.

Another good suggestion. Derivative architecture is one from @prydefoltz.

Yes that works too!

Interesting photgographs @oldtimer. Not to my taste though. Give my Lake Garda any day! 😁

Is there anything inside them or are they facades?

My guess for your mystery building is Saudi Arabia. 😊

Good guess. Inside each country presents their history, food, clothes, etc.
Check some of my older posts.

How beautiful! You're lucky to see all this splendor.
It's like you've toured the world. Bravo.
Thanks for the great shots.
Best wishes from @singa

Thank you.

I have never heard of this Street
Yes perhaps a little over the top but still so cool and interesting

It's a big place, more like an amusement park. You'll need a couple of days to see everything. They have 19K parking spots.

WOW 19K parking spots I never guessed it was that big and still shocked i was never even aware it existed Thnaks for sharing , JUst mentioned it to a friend who regular passes through there and he said the same about it being huge and one visit you just touch the surface of all that is there

It's like Disney land. Closed amusement park and you need to buy a ticket for sure. Check Global village in Dubai on Google.

I understand the perspective on the unauthenticity of the buildings, but sometimes in foreign lands, People feel the need and excitement to be reminded of the heritage or monuments, it gives a sense of something to look forward to when going home. Or reminds them of what they left behind

You're right. Thanks for the comment.

Great to see multi countries art pieces are standing on one street and these all creations are reflecting as loudly appealing for the exploration by people, and all these artistic creations are proof that we human beings can achieve anything, but we have to understand our true capabilities. And as you said to guess that one picture, i may be wrong but in my opinion it's related to South Africa. And i can imagine how would be the feeling when all these great creations are standing on one street with these colourful lighting which holding it's own essence and it will make an difficult choice for people which one to explore first.

First of all the creators and whole management team should be appreciated because they came up with amazing artistic world project. And i hope and wish that one day i can explore this amazing place.

Thanks for sharing this post with us and wishing you an great day. Stay blessed. 🙂

amazing archetecture ,thanks .

Thank you.

As a matter it is kind of a great work as I think many people would not be able to go at different places due to many facts like time, money and much more.

While it sure is great to get a look at those famous places at one place.

Fake architecture is a fascinating topic. Leaving real-life aside, one thing I enjoy about watching movies the most is how they realize historic or fantastic settings visually.

For example, Wakanda in Black Panther was realized just beautifully.

I am just now realizing how much I actually enjoy this kind of stuff. Never consciously thought about it like this.

Rasveta je divna i svi paviljoni istinski zrače. Fotografije su odlične za noćne snimke. Dočarali ste u ranijim postovima pravu atmosferu.

Oo I like fake architecture! I think it's cool how it's all together in one spot like that.

Carried away a bit, yeah, but still fun.

Now if I could only rebuild all of my favorite places right next to each other...it would be the perfect place to live!

very good photos
