Today I choose a different topic for my post. Maybe it's a bit unusual but on our travels, we shouldn't pay attention only to attractions and famous places but observe a normal life and people too.
We should also learn about new cultures and professions people have around the world.
On our vacation in Dubai, we saw a lot of great stuff. I showed you some and I have more. But today I'll introduce you a very dangerous profession.
Food delivery driver.
This is probably the most common type of motorcycle you'll see in Dubai. There are hundreds and hundreds of them on the roads. If I remember correctly the UAE is around 60 kilometers long and that's basically the whole city. Most of the roads through the city are highways up to seven lines in one direction.
The speed limit is 120 km/h but police somehow tolerate up to 140 km/h. Drivers are well equipped and know how to push it to the limits.
That's where the term fast food gets a real meaning. Literately.
If you want to ride a bike in Dubai you need at least 125 cc machine. By law. No scooters, mopeds or Vespas. They're too weak and to slow.
Honda is the most popular among delivery drivers or maybe is just the best brand. I'm not an expert on this subject.
The modern Street Warrior at the night shift.
They live a very dangerous life.
Don't you believe me?
Here is the proof.
The box with food was 20 meters further down the road. We were relieved when we spotted the driver another 20 meters further. He was standing and scratching his elbow while discussing the road rules with the car driver. He was lucky this time.
But, hey.
Who cares?
Meanwhile on the Happiness Street.
Business as usual.
Guys in Mercedes or Jaguars don't need food delivery anyway.
BTW, I'm sure you didn't know that in Dubay they have a special kind of ministry.
Check Google if you don't believe me.
Ministry of happiness.
Do you believe in faith or coincidence?
While I was in the middle of writing this post the funny music starts playing on our street. Summer is here and Ice Cream just arrived for the first time.
Like Edmontonian, I feel ashamed of this toy comparing to delivery Hondas of Dubai. We suppose to be well developed and rich city too.
But at least our drivers are safe, eh?
Happy Wednesday to all, and drive safe.
Fast food delivery are dangerous in every country not just Dubai as i think.

Fascinating insight into life in Dubai, often wondered if I'd like it there as an expat.
Another bts guy. Cool.

Food delivery boy drive fast for delivery in time.
I must say culture is our way of life, culture is our identity the kind of foods we eat determined where will come from and also the way we greet in my country Nigeria is classify into two region Hausa ignoring and Yoruba, the Yoruba go on their kneels why greeting. Thanks for sharing your experience in Dubai with us.

Food Delivery has been resteemed by @resteemmuse
@oldtimer there are certain time limits too for delivery. Here in India if you order Pizza and if you do not get it by 30 min it will be free and cost will be bear by the driver...for late delivery....i belive these driver always remain on hook for their duty and a dangerous one too...
Some interesting point you bring in. Thanks.
This got my attention
I am a Nigerian sometime last year, My State Governor appointed his younger Sister a Commissioner for Happiness
So hilarious position.
I am not surprised if there isn't any Scooter in Dubai
Lots them Scooter are found in India
Ha ha... great food delivery story! Your ice cream truck looks like a cross between a meter maid car and a taxi! Glad the delivery guy in Dubai wasn't injured in the crash... it was a big motorcycle! So cool how you notice these things when you travel and take great photos too!
Then the deliveries of food are very fast, very good that point ... a bit dangerous for passersby, so you have to caution
My guy road a motorcycle and toured all over the country, with a few mishaps and broken bones, and they absolutely terrify me. Give me an ice cream delivery vehicle any day!
wow, this is amazing, I am amazed by your journey with so many amazing photography, hopefully your day is memorable, I will always support you.
I will upvote and restem
Fascinating!
And yes, please elaborate on the Ministry of Happiness!
I can't remember if I mentioned this but one of our daughters spent the entire month of January in India at a Global children's village. She mentioned all the food motorcycles as well. That and the cows dressed up on the streets. it is so interesting to learn more about different cultures.
Interesting indeed.
Times are getting easier and more modern
All stay with the grip
what you say it is for the sake of our safety if we use the three or four wheels do not happen just fall @oldtimer
Hmm...this reminds me of a story I heard about a certain U.S.-based restaurant chain (and for legal reasons I won't say which one). In any case, I heard that rather than reduce the pressure on its drivers to deliver food as fast as possible, the corporation simply sets aside an annual slush fund to pay for funerals for drivers who die in car accidents on the job.
:)
Im sure in many countries these kind of deliveries are becoming more and more popular as it is convenient and people nowadays like to have things delivered, including food.
I live in China and here on the streets theres delivery guys everywhere, on everycorner theres a few of them. Not sure whether it is safer or not, but they use electric bikes here to deliver the food. probably more ecofriendly but still dangerous on the road as there are no separate roads for cars and bikes. Be safe whether your driving a car, a bike or walking!. Cheers
It would look good for Marijuana delivery in California tnx for sharing
Pffft you ought to see out jet ski folks on the lake LOL!!!!
in my country , some fast food delivery boy is also driving fast and appears on the road suddenly sometimes , very dangerous i think.
a great rule. I love Dubai. Dubai is a country that I always dreamed of, hopefully one day I can visit there.
I heard many stories from my brother who wandered and worked in dubai.
Btw, put rice to our place
hungry :)
Today your post is showcasing different aspect and that is roadways and vehicle, and all these pictures are really great to watch, and what i find awesome is, situation is not reflecting so busy and every stuff is reflecting really cool. Thanks for informing about the Ministry Of Happiness, it's something unique and surprising to hear and this kind of step is awesome, and yes i believe in coincidence and what you faced is really awesome and it's called falling right things at right times. Thanks for sharing this post with us and wishing you an great day. Stay blessed. 🙂
One fact is driving a motorcycle whether you would get bumped or you bumped is not very favorable for the driver. But these services of food delivery via motorcycles needs to be fast as they are delivering foods that often needs to be as hot as if it was freshly scooped or made. @oldtimer
This news was very new to me! I did know something about Dubai as my close friend stayed there for 4 years but did not know this speed strategy. 120 km/hr is so high speed i think. An accident with this speed could be life risk. What if they slow down their motor bike and delivery food in time with this middle speed? is there any law of it? or the law just created by the owners!
If I think that work is dangerous, because when they call themselves fast food they tend to get food fast, imagine if it is on the other side of the city or the traffic has not helped to deliver that order as soon as possible, it is a Stress that insurance that must deliver the order must have because if it takes a little longer than the account may not pay, although I'm sure that in Dubai that does not happen since they are partly Developed and as I would love to know Dubai really if and know their customs and culture, what they eat what they listen to especially their music, music is the universal language and who removes and someday I go to do a concert and my Violin with me hahaha a pleasure
wow friend, excellent post and very good pictures!
The present study was checked. Yes! Dangerous!
Very. And pedestrians also today the road is not easy to cross.
Speed.
Alcohol. Extreme much everywhere.
Let you all be wonderful!
My best regards, @singa
They must reach at their time, so they are in hurry always ... Very nice post & excellent presentation 😊
I am not a friend of speed, for two years I drive a motorcycle and I never had an accident. I think God saved me from that, but I really admire these workers who bring their lives to bring a meal in record time to their destination, it's a job really admirable and respected. I liked that you published this because we know much more about this city so rich in every way.
oldtimer, you came out of nowhere and you are killing it in Steem with stunning content. This truly shows that when one is dedicated success does not take long to follow.
oldtimer is a straight shooter and I am glad to see that he continues to give solid advice.
If you can buy some steem helps too.
Thanks for the kind comment.
