The Last Ride

in #photography7 years ago

I checked my past blogs and find out that was exactly one month since the first ride with my bike. I did some nice rides and took many good photos.

The first week was the toughest, at least my rear end said soo, but now it's OK. They became buddies.

With time the rides get longer and the last one was no less than 23 kilometers long.

Not bad for an oldtimer like me.

Enjoy the photos from the last ride with my bike.

Albertans know how to squeeze the most out of summer.

Another city hare resting 5 meters from Avenue full of noisy traffic.

It's a rare sight of a brick building here.

Even most of the churches are made of wood.

I reached the newest bridge and it was quite a long ride but it pays off well.

But there was more.

I'm not making this up, but just when I leaned over the fence the Queen came by.

What a coincidence,

and a perfect timing.

On the way home I met this weird guy.

Well, maybe I'll need to change my statement about the brick buildings.

It looks like they're not so rare as I thought.

This was my reward for the long ride. Good dog.

And now is the time to finish my story.

The morning after I was sipping my morning coffee in the front yard and I noticed that back door in our garage was wide opened.

My first thought was wind but there were also lights still on in the garage.

We keep a lot of stuff laying around. Tools, pails, boots, lawn mower, and so on.

On the first glance, everything was still there. Thank god. I must keep the door locked in the future.

But then I realized something is not how it should be. It was just one bike in the stand and one was missing.

Guess which one.

Now you understand the meaning of the title of this post.

I learned my lesson.

Live is not a cake, my friends.

Beautiful shots ... I love the Rabbit's, nice concepts and perfect timing. was the car drawing the boat in the first picture or is that the anchor?

Sorry about the theft of your bike. I took up riding about 7 years ago in my 50s. One of the best decisions I've made. I really enjoy the exercise, fresh air, and mind stimulation. Hope you get back in the saddle soon. Good Luck!

Wow nice photoshoot..👏👏👍👍👌👌

Sorry for the obsessive advertising. It is necessary to earn.

It's not working good for your reputation as I can see.
Rethink your strategy.

Thank you for sharing with us all the pictures that you took on your last bike ride!

oh no! now what? are you going to replace it? dang scumbag thieves!
well the photos were wonderful especially that bridge.

When I'll come back from vacation in EU it'll be time for the snowmobile up here, hehe.

ha! oh I see, well perhaps when next spring comes around you can invest in another one!

Nooo. I was happy for you to be riding your bike in the nice weather. What a bummer that someone has stolen it. You cannot however use this as an excuse for it to be your last ride. Buy a new bike and be vigilant about locking your doors. Don't let a negative person (the bike thief in this case) ruin the enjoyment which you get from riding your bicycle. Get yourself on two wheels again and enjoy!

Thanks for encouraging and positive words.

That is one neat bridge!
So maybe it’s because my husband really likes motorcycles, but when you were talking about a bike, for some reason I assumed motorcycle and not street bike. But now it all makes sense!
Sorry to hear that it’s gone :( Do you think you’ll get a new one?

Next spring for sure. I'll go on vacation next week and the winter is early up here North.

Muy bien ganada tienes esa recompensa @oldtimer despúes de tantos kilometros en bicicleta te lo merecias y en este paseo nos muestras excelentes fotografias

Oh no! Someone stole your bike?

I feel a lot of outrage over that, and it isn't even my bike! I'm sorry to hear that. Will you get a new one?

Next spring.

Bike is good for you. And for us as you make good photos. Just keep the home locked :)

Thank you for the advice.

Really your pic collection is unique !

When I read the title of your post right away I was curious to know why it was the "last trip" seems a title of a thriller, but it is very sad to lose your bike, but you will get a better and you can continue these so rich adventures, that today you share with your followers, all the shots are very well taken and they are beautiful and they leave me a taste of mouth to continue seeing more images of the adventures of @oldtimer greetings.

Awe that's a shame! In that short time I bet you got your money's worth and now you know the possibilities. Go ahead and upgrade to a better bicycle maybe one of those with the fat tires you can use in the snow! Take it up a notch! Great photo show and I know there will be many more to come.

great photography my dear friend

Oh noooo. Did u report it to the Police???

You've decided to ride a long ride.

Žal mi je za “last ride”🚴🏻‍♂️😧 in upam, da bo nadomestilo, ki prav gotovo v prihodnosti še pride, pripeljalo do še lepših dogodivščin in posledično post-ov.

It is so fun to see how you can go through so many different types of neighbourhoods and so so many different things on these long rides. The new bridge looks quite open and modern. A nice reward at the end. Melting ice cream on a warm day is delicious.

This place looks as if a dream come genuine region. Especially as it's not acknowledged to vacationers and so few people stay there... it needs to be great. how did you get to listen about it?
