One of the best moments of my trip in South Africa, in Saint Lucia, isimangaliso wetlands reserve, KwaZulu-Natal was when we went on a boat trip through a river of Hippos, crocodiles and other varius animals. The crocs and hippos walk free on the streets of saint lucia at night and even have paths that are built specially for them to use.
Here are photos of hippos and crocodiles I took while on the boat trip. enjoy!

because of the small size of baby hippos, they are unable to stand in the water therefore need to jump up every once in a while to breath.
hippos atr noctural, so they sleep together all day and at night they stroll through the streets of saint lucia.
fun fact: the hippos closest relative is the whale.
