Last Thursday, we had a Basic Photography worksite here in the office. It was conducted by a friend of our company owner. This guy has over 20 years of experience in news photography and was working for an international news agency before.
Basic Photography Lessons
First, he gave us a basic run through about understanding the exposure triangle of photography: Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO. Then, he continued with the discussion about selecting the right values for Metering and White Balance according to different scenarios.
Lastly, he discussed different composition techniques in photography like using Lines, Natural Frames, Balance, etc. He also showed us some example of his photographs pertaining to the aforementioned.
Photography Assignment
Before ending the basic workshop, he gave us a little assignment wherein we need to practice and focus on one technique first, which is Lines. So, he assigned us to get some photos and use Lines as part of the composition. He wanted us to show some pictures to him at our next meeting so he can critique it and help us improve our skills.
I already started practising and got these two shots below using my guitar as a subject.
What do you think of the photos?
By the way, just a side note: we are a software development outsourcing firm in Cebu Philippines. This photography workshop is just one of our benefits in the company.
Hey, just wanted to let you know I gave you an upvote because I appreciate your content! =D See you around
how was his feedback? you didn't include it in this blog
