My Take At The Niagara Falls: Vibrant Feels

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

Yesterday while I was shooting I felt like a complete amateur. I felt like my settings were all messed up, I kept looking at my small screen in disappointment. I asked myself why I couldn't get any amazing shots? Probably because I'm new. However, I didn't give up after my first few failed attempts. The rainbow was too good to miss out on. I'm really pleased with the way these turned out after viewing them at home and editing a bit. I took these yesterday, and edited using light room on my phone. I used my Canon Eos M6 with my 22mm f/2.0 prime lens. This is pretty much my first attempt since a really long time at landscape photography.

I visited the Niagara Falls a while back and will never forget its awesome power and grand beauty. Nice collection of shots. :)

OMG! I think I will!

Wait really??? I would love that!

Yes, I’m going to message you on steem chat!

Sweet! I’m avaliable whenever

How do you feel like shooting with a mirrorless? Is it the same camera you use for vlogging?
I am asking because I feel like my 70D is aging so fast :D

It is the same camera that I use for vlogging! I actually really love it, I think the most important thing is to understand the settings, it takes amazing pictures.
However there is no viewfinder so it makes it harder to see the screen, hence why I thought my pictures were coming out horrible.
The new EOS M50 has everything that you would need.
Also the Sony mirroless line is 👌🏽

These are some beautiful photos @paolajane. I did abit of photography 3 years ago in college. It's Soothing just walking around and capturing pictures.

Yeah, I sometimes feel frustrated when I'm working on video editing or a illustration. I was making a thumbnail yesterday for the sndbox contest and almost gave up because I didn't think it would look good. So I started over on a new thumbnail and it turned out to be better than the previous thumbnail I made.

Thats content creation.. so frustrating at times.. then so amazing when you're done. It makes it all worth it. The video I posted today I was editing for hours... but it was so worth it!

Not because you're new, but because it's actually a hard place to shoot. The sky, the water and those water particles are all sensitive to light breaks and reflections. Well, you're good at it, you'll be better ;)
Did you use a polarized filter?

Haha it was definitely hard.. thanks for the boost in confidence. I didn't use a filter, I also wanted to experiment with long exposure, but having no ND filter is a bust haha

Hahaha... yes without ND it gonna messier but you know if you don't have it you can use pantyhose. Silly but it works somehow sometimes :) My first long exposure shooting also a night shoot. I don't want even remember how bad it was :D

I'm from Buffalo NY. Seen the Falls hundreds of times. The better view is from Canada.

Haha but im sure the view is still great from buffalo

It is, but from Canada you get the panoramic view of both Niagara Falls and Horseshoe Falls.

You have an eye for photography. Excellent focus and spatial quality, the colors are very vivid.

Thank you so much!

hermoso uno de los lugares que amaría ir

WoW! That rainbow makes iT even more perfect! 😍💫✨

The falls are amazing, for a beginner you're still getting some beautiful shots Paola!

Good job @paolajane. Making Onterrible look beautiful. Ha ha ha, I'm sorry, I just can't help myself. Okay, if there's any Ontario people reading, I'm just joking, I love your province too. I've only been to Niagara Falls once and it was a long time ago, but it was stunning and I remember the sound from the falls was wild. I hope you're enjoying the trip.

to an amateur it looks really really amazing😎 very cool how still got the rainbow on it 💥 does editing in lightroom on your phone work well? I think more about just using my phone.

PAOLA:
I do not know if you have heard a song by Juan Luis Guerra called "The Niagara by bike", which tells that the hospital situation of the Hispanic countries is so hard that it is easier to cross the Niagara by bicycle.

From now on when I listen to the song I will remember this photo that you have published.

I think you did a really good job seeing as you are new to photography! I love the rainbow and the compositions are really good! I have been shooting professionally 8 years and still don't use half the buttons on my digital camera because there is no need, so it's just about finding what works for you!
