Finally, @vcelier gave us the excuse that we needed!
For over a year now, we have been living less than an hour away from some incredible caves. But… life gets busy, and life moves on too. However, since we had some guests from out of the country, @vcelier & @naru-celier, we had just the excuse we needed to take a break and check them out. To make matters even better, @vcelier even paid! (Thanks man!)
Mystic Cavern is an incredible cave located right next to the Crystal Dome, which is another amazing cave. Since @papa-pepper and a few of the older @little-peppers used to enjoy some caving back up in Wisconsin, we had always wanted to check these out. @Vcelier has also visited some caves in his past, so we decided to fit the adventure into our last full day together.
I plan on doing a full post about our time at the caves, but wanted to share some photos of each cave first, starting with the first one that we entered, the Mystic Cavern.
MYSTIC CAVERN
As always, I'm @papa-pepper and here's the proof:

Beautiful indeed!
We have caves that look just like this in Texas called Carlsbad Caverns! You should totally check em out if ur ever going by!
My favorite part of being in caves like this the air temperature as its so nice and cool and the sounds! Its almost totally silent besides the sound of some drips or when someone speaks and you can hear them from way away. So fun to hike through!
That's something you don't see every day, thanks for the inside look.
Those are some great speleothems! Was the cave pre lit, or did you light it for the photos?
That is the lighting that they have in the cave already. They have it on switches so they can turn them on and off.
nice pics @papa-pepper
thanks for taking us with you there as well
and for the update that you two are together!
damn- he's freaking generous really :)
I hope you all are having fun!
send my regards !
What a wonderful art of nature ! Thanks for sharing!
Caves can be absolutely breathtaking, especially when the oxygen gets depleted.
Har Har Har
Nice pictures and nice formations. Caving is super fun. As a kid growing up in California our 4th grade class went on a field trip to the Moaning caverns. That experience left a lasting mark on me and a serious desire to explore to the point I left my wife @stryeyz alone in the dark, in the middle of Cody Cave in BC Canada, while I went and explored the rest of the cave. It all ended up fine but she still reminds me of it from time to time.... Needless to say the spelunking bug has a strong bite and that venom can take a person over, but it can be fun, scary, and purely thrilling all at once.
nice photo its ur really good shot and u r always best sir @papa-pepper
Thank you @kellyrose.
Très bon article. Qui a des photos de qualité et de beauté
Absolument.
Beautiful photos :)!
Absolutely stunning photos ! Must be incredible to see the formations up that close. Never experienced caving in WI and haven't been to Mystic Caverns but I've been through plenty in the south- central Appalachian Mountains Wild and commercial.
I prefer wild, maybe I should swing out sometime to see some out there.
That would be great considering, I'm aiming to start a guiding service here. I would be honored to show you around. There's a lot to take in here above and below ground :) Give a shout anytime.
Sounds good! Thanks!
That's Just Amazing @papa-pepper . What a beautiful place , amazing pictures. You had a great Adventure men thanks for sharing something cool and new. Loved it 👌
Ooh! Stalactites and stalagmites!
Yup, one is holding on tite to the ceiling and the other one mite reach all the way up there one day!
I'll be using this to teach my 7th graders the difference. You da man!
Great photos. Glad you were able to make it there finally! We've had that on our to-do list as well. Now that I have a sneak-peek, we definitely have to make some time to go.
You all would enjoy it, we sure did!
Amazing photography. I've been meaning to get out to the Laray caverns for a while now. As you said that little thing called life just gets all up in our way sometimes. Resteeming.
Yeah, life!
Wow. Outstanding pictures. You can feel it coldness from the pictures
Nice Photography ....
Wow...very nice cave spot...is that an tourist cave @papa-pepper ?
Yes, it has been a popular tourist cave since before I was ever born.
Ohw...that was pretty cool bro!
Some really nice shots of the caverns! A lot of stalactite formation there. Judging by the pools of water in the cavern, I assume they're still actively forming.
This was was not as active as the Crystal Dome, but I'll post the photos from that cave soon.
oye, nice cave and photos too.
Nice photo
Good pic's
hey @papa-pepper
great
upvoted
Very cool photos! But I'd be afraid to be in the caves. I'd feel claustrophobic in there.
Super cool! Looks like an alien world, lol. There's some neat caves not too far from where I live as well that I eventually need to get to and film.
Nice picture
Waww ... it's amazing, the place is cool and fascinating. Plus your professionals in shooting. I think your work has a high selling point. Whether the photo you shared in this steemit is purely your own work, or maybe there is your colleague who is in charge of shooting? Thank you. - @siren7
Very awesome cavern!
Thanks for taking us through a less often seen natural marvel, I've been in similar places only twice before & wish I could go more often. Your photos will suffice for now.
Challenging conditions to capture, do you have a monopod? They're not too expensive, lightweight, easy to carry/deploy, and would really assist you in many scenarios, including low-light & macro especially when combined with a pistol grip for quick repositioning.
Wow Caves!!! its so thrill and dangerous too. You have done commendable Job .
Your are so brave @papa-pepper Thanks for sharing such amazing post..
Nice photographs you said it we should invest our time on steemit
It looks so mysterious! Like it)
wow the photos are beautiful and the lighting , i have to say that the cave lives true to its name mystic :) its great the u finally got the chance to advent into these beautiful caves and witness its beauty, i love caves i live in a mountainous area so there are quite a few caves too where i live, i love the feeling that they give off, a sense of danger, as well as experimenting adventuring and witnessing a different sense of beauty.
Nice looking cave. I used to do a bit of cave guiding in my younger days as part of my job. I hated it really - nothing much to look at, cold, wet, muddy, whining kids and wetas down the back of your neck.
At least you have nice caves over there ;-)
Everyday day, and sometimes even the day off, carries with it problems, worries and worries. This is quite natural and natural. We are wasting our nerves and vitality, trying to cope with all difficult situations. I wish you, first, that today your day is easy and pleasant. And secondly, that you never take anything to heart, but treat everything with the positive and sense of humor that is given to you by nature. Have a good day!
Beautiful :-)
We do have some caverns in Mauritius too, I have never visited though! I heard that it is really very hot inside and oxygen level low!
Great shots by the way!
Really mystical!
@progressivechef
Amazing caves!! This reminds me that I need to get out and explore the caves in my region again. Thanks for sharing.

Great photography and a good glimpse into those caverns... Some nice formations there! I bet the lighting issue was difficult?
I've seen the Blanchard Springs Caverns a few times, but I've never been to the Mystic Caverns. Looks like it would be worth the trip!
Good @tha199
Caves are sweet, nice pics! Speaking of Wisconsin, have you been to Crystal Cave there?
Really nice photos @papa-pepper! What an experience and what a generous friend you have made in @vcelier. Spelunking is something I have never tried although my husband and sons did and thought it was a great experience. Just can't bring myself to shed the claustrophobia long enough to try...
Very nice location. How i wish could go to that cave and take some pictures 😊😊😊
I love visiting different caverns and Mystic Cavern looks spectacular! Isn't it funny that you see & learn more about your area when company comes. And I think I appreciate more when having someone to share it with. Thanks for the great photos.
Those caves are nothing but demons and gargoyles.
I'm too claustrophobic to be squirming through tight rocks that could bite my legs off.
Really though.. That looks like fun. :)
So Beautiful!!!
