They are designed to work non-stop, day in and day out! When they stop working, they die! Simple isn't it?
We, as humans are not designed like this, but so many of us are trapped in the hustle and bustle of everyday life! Chasing after targets, chasing after progress, forever chasing after something and never satisfied!
There is a saying; "Stop and smell the roses" But so many of us think, yeah right, a great saying for the weaklings!
But wait a minute here! What is your chasing and hustling doing to your health? Ever heard of "Health is wealth"?
A billion dollars in the bank and an empty tank in your chest is a certain recipe for disaster.
Money, prestige, pride, achievements and all else are worthless compared to good health!
Oh, many of us claim to have great health simply because we rush ourselves in exercise routines, or we push ourselves to the limit in all other areas designed to keep us fit! This is not a bad thing in itself, but it only becomes bad when no rest is involved!
The photos above were all taken by me today during one of the slowest walks in my life!
I chased dementedly to create perfection whilst in the corporate world and I continued the chase when I started the Papillon charity 17 years ago. My life has always been about challenges and achievements.
But one morning I woke up and for some strange reason I couldn't breathe like normal.
A myriad of doctors were consulted and a chemist of prescription medicines slowly materialized at home! Chest tablets, lung liquids, blood pressure medicines and so much else. To cut a long story short, my life was being changed by force. Of course I had none of these ailments and it was recently discovered that an artery that feeds my brain was almost completely blocked, failing to deliver blood and oxygen to my brain.
Now, the artery was repaired, I have clear sight, I breathe normally, BUT, I have to rest! Like putting a halter on a race horse and trotting him around a show ground! Work, play and rest plays equal parts in our human existence and if one is absent, sooner or later the body fails. Play includes exercise! God created the world and when he was finished, he rested! He did not die and he is not sick, but rest was his prerequisite!
Think about it!

Truth!! We work to live and not live to work so let's enjoy every other moments outside work hours by engaging in healthy activities. Don't eat what you want but instead, eat what your body needs. Thanks
Thank you! I am trying my best to undergo a complete change of lifestyle! I really enjoyed your reply! Blessings!
Please do rest. I experienced a health meltdown last year and all because of too much stress for too long. It took me weeks to feel like myself again and I now understand that my body was warning me for years. All the best with your recovery.
Thank you for the care! Charity work is one of the most stressful jobs, but I refused to listen! We also burnt out about 2 years ago but I thought it was over! now I know and I have to warn all others! Rest is a strange concept to me, but it is essential and I will force myself to comply! Glad you got over it! Take care and blessings to you and yours!
Enjoy some time off and the weekend :)
Doing just that Sir Steve and have not gone to work today for the first time in 17 years! It feels strange but I will get used to it! I am of no use to anyone in the grave! Thank you for the care and support! Blessings!

Love the flowers and insect photography from your slow walk, nature really revealed herself to you.
Get well soon! (Change of pace sounds like it is needed.)
Indeed Lady Joan, she holds so many lessons for us! How do I long for the hippie days! Going for a verdict on Thursday and whichever way, we will start planning a long and slow road trip! Thank you for your kindness!
Congratulations!
