Thank you! I capture the photos on my camera, a Canon Powershot SX60 HS.
I have to wait for the macadamias to dry properly before placing them in the sun so that the outer skin can crack open. Then I use a pliers to open the hard inner shell.
If one wants to actually pluck them off the tree, care must be taken by feeling if they are still sticky, as then they are not ready to be plucked.
Another way to test if they are ready, is to drop them, without the outer skin, into a bucket of water. If they float then they are ripe. If they sink then they are not ready yet!
So sad that you don't have macadamias there!
