Our favorite pest killer is back!
"Horace" is a "Dark-winged Kite" of the hawk family and he keeps the townships clean of large rats, that at times carry plagues! Let me show you some tricks of this air dancer!
He's got a huge rat in his claws!
Oops, he dropped some food!
Here he has finished cleaning himself after lunch!
And here he returns to the hunt!
Rats carry much sicknesses and "Horace" and the herons are a great help to eliminate the pests! Fortunately their own health cannot be affected by any of the pests that the rats carry and they certainly are a great help to avoid children falling ill due to being bitten by the rats.
Nature's own exterminators!
Hope you enjoyed the post!

He's just handsome
Yep! A real cool looking guy!
His skill as a hunter is surely matched by your skill in photography. A beautiful bird and amazing shots. Congratulations.
Now how do I reply to such a kind comment? Thank you for the sweet remarks and so glad that you liked it! Blessings! @isabeldorastorey
Really awesome bird!
All is kept clean under the eye of Horace! lol
I am told that there's about 100,000 of these guys in the country, normally in wide grass fields and each of them has to eat two mice a day. Not Horace, as he is definitely a city suburb boy! Blessings! @zakludick
Haha, City boi. Better not make off with someone's bunnies or their kittens!
Red eyes hawk is so beautiful.
Thank you and oh yes, he has a very special look about him! Blessings! @legendchew
Wow, what a big bite, one slurp (or two) and it's gone, great to have a pest terminator in town @papilloncharity
Yup! He has emigrated from the wide grasslands to patrol the highways around the city! We live in a place that was once a farm, but they split the farm in two to run a highway through it! In fact one of the old farm houses is inside the complex of our place and the valley is surrounded by hills! Thank you for the kind support Lady @joansteward
