The death of photography

in #photography5 years ago

When I started taking pictures every single shot would mean everything to me. I would pay a lot of attention to the camera parameters, the light, the perspective and the subject to be taken.
I would spend so much time in calibrating the focus that the scene I had in mind at the beginning would have completely changed when I took it.
I used to shoot one or two rolls in one of my street photography sessions and those where a lot to me.
Nowadays I have a completely vision of photography. I shoot more and more when I am in a session and of course I care less and less about the parameters of my camera.

I used to use an SRL camera with manual focus lenses.
I am getting used to using a point and shoot camera.
The death of photography happens when you believe that your gear is much more important than yourself.
You are behind the camera and you eventually push the button and take the picture.
The death of photography happens when you believe that after you take a picture or a million picture, or a billion picture your job is done.

Camera is not important....Use the gear you want or need but do not adulate your camera, it's just a piece of plastic or metal (if you're lucky).
Your job isn't finished when you take photos. Selection is your biggest challenge. Spend more time in selection than in taking photos.
