Sometimes when you wander the wilderness you find a portal to universe...
This is the view of the night sky from a rock formation in the Western Australian outback.
Astro photography season is back... well at least in the far south west it is. One of the great things about living at the far southern end of the southern hemisphere is that we only have a few weeks where the core of the milky way isn't visible at some time of night.
This time of year it starts rising again around 2-3am, so if you can get out before the sun starts rising, you can get some milky way photos.
