Animal photographs: Snails

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

Hello friends <3

I think time has come to share some photos that i´ve taken of different snails with shells.
All found during last summer on one of my long dog walks,
and I think the large ones look really cool.

Unfortunately, I do not know much about just snails,
but for your sake, I've done my homework and found out some facts about shell snails,
that you can read about a little further down.

It turns out that Snail, is just a common name for gastropods with shells,
especially larger shells that they can hide their entire bodies in.
A shell less snail would be called a slug, doh.
The seashell consists almost exclusively of lime.
How practical it must be to always carry around your home, and the freedom!

We use snails as food, at least some apparently do like to eat escargot, yuck,
snails with spices on! Nothing I would recommend.
Otherwise they just chill out or perhaps eats our garden plants :)

If I'm to be honest, I'm very pleased with these pictures
I think they have good focus and I am satisfied with the picture quality,
considering that they are taken with my mobile camera.
