Super insightful talk. I never thought how quickly filming got technical when you are not shooting in auto (I'm a newb). But this info has equipped me with the confidence to start trying to film in manual and just playing around with all the settings
That's true! I'm glad it has equipped you!!! I'm super happy for you!!! :D
Because you are moving forward with the confidence to shoot in manual - you get an upvote!!!

Cool! Thanks again!!
Very welcome! Hey are you in Hawaii? My sister is there!!!
Ya dude! Just living the dream out here.
What does she do out here?
Interesting discuss. You did well, thanks a lot.
Thanks so much! I'm glad you weren't more confused than I was by the end of the video!!! LOL
Because you understood - you get an upvote

This was very helpful but I still have a question. So I got a compact camera for my videos and I’m still shooting in automatic mode as I don’t know a lot about how to set the correct settings and I also thought higher frame rate would be better because of a smoother image.
But when it comes to transitions I want to have that motion blur at some points where I can hide cuts within. So I would set my frame rate down to 24 (in Europe 25 FPS).
But what if I want to make a smooth shot of something and then after that directly add a fast, blurry motion for a tansition while recording.
Is there an easy way of editing the video part at the end to make it more blurry? I hope you get the idea of what I mean...
Hey my dear euro brotha! I think I know what you mean. I'm going to make a video just for you to try and show you how to do it. Can you send me an example of a video?
In this video right at the beginning I have this slide transition. I recorded it the first time at 50 FPS and it looked really weird as there was almost no motion blur where I could hide the cut. Then I retried this scene at 25 FPS.
And a lot of the stuff I mean is shown in this video by Peter McKinnon. I just didn’t had the opportunity to this this out yet. But what I tried at home was really tough to make with 50 FPS.
Thanks a lot for taking the time, making a video just for this one question. I really appreciate it!
Okay I got it!!! I'm going to make you a video on that, brotha :)
Fore sure!!! One love, my friend. One love.

What bothers everyone about Dtube is that it is really slow, uploading videos is difficult. Hopefully they are working hard to fix it.
It'll get faster my brotha! What do you find difficult about uploading? Maybe I can help! :D

I can’t believe I missed this post from a couple days ago! THANK YOU for taking the time to fill my response video to my question! Based on the comments here, it looks like other people found this information useful as well. :-)
You really are just oozing with great photo and video knowledge. I’m so glad you’re here NG tube helping us all out. There was definitely a need for this kind of content, and you have done an excellent job filling that space. :-)
Focusing on writing is probably the biggest Takeaway I got from this video. I have some soft box lights in my apartment, but whatever I had outdoors to film, I struggle bit more the lighting. I’ll have to go watch your lighting video next! I thought about getting some outdoor lights to take with me when I shoot. Now that we are getting closer to spring, I’d love to film outdoors were often to switch up the background!
Thanks again for the great video!! I cracked up at your “Corpus Cat” comment too!! Haha
