Mylar and Helium
floating across
my blue sky
blemishes the cerulean
conquer more accessible
but less noble
elements
the nurturing
fall to the base
to steady
the rest
the gluttonous
seek elevation
inflation
rise to the top
upon
the current
it's a natural law
the less substantial
always float above those
with true gravitas
but only so far
until adhering to nothing
sacred or dear
claims everything
mylar and hot air
isn't really a star
Wasn't sure what I was going to write about today. I generally find inspiration on my travels online, but I woke super early this morning and had time to get in a walk and a little martial arts practice before my day began in earnest.
There was a little black spot floating up through the clouds.
At first I thought it was a drone, but then I saw it was attached to a string. My mind made the connection, and I noted its star shape.
Someone had lost her balloon and given me a muse.

Upon a steep slope
A small stream rushes
To join the waters of a great lake
Gaining strength and chaos
With its progress
If the lake receives
With a narrow bed
The flow is constricted
Chaos is increased
With a wide bed and still waters
Barely a ripple is felt
As one the stream and the lake
Grow in strength; only chaos is lost
People naturally seek out a great nation
A nation that nurtures becomes stronger
Yang naturally seeks out yin
Yang need only flow
Yin need only open to receive
Together they are stronger; only chaos is lost
