Wow now I say for the first time different kind of pictures, as food from you. And I like them just the same! 50mm is a must have lens.. but I don't have it :( ... yet ;)

Do what you can to obtain the 50mm, it's amazing. It isn't good for small spaces as you need to stand far back for the subject, but if have the right amount of space, it is amazing!!
Yes I know.. And it performs well for close portraits ;)
