There is something very, very poetic about dead flowers. They have a kind of architecture that is missing from the living thing.
Now I have this tune in my head:
Take me down little Susie, take me down
I know you think you're the queen of the underground
And you can send me dead flowers every morning
Send me dead flowers by the mail
Send me dead flowers to my wedding
And I won't forget to put roses on your grave
I think that dead flowers are more unique.
Poppies are a case in point! I find them far cooler without petals.
