When a turtle is seen moving on the beach, we are strongly discouraged from harassing the turtle. The stages that a turtle will do when laying eggs must be understood. Some stages are very sensitive to interference, while some other stages can still be tolerated by turtles.

When exploring the oceans, female turtles can travel thousands of miles to find their place of birth or nesting before. According to the theory, they can detect the angle and structure of the earth's magnet upon birth. That's why they can find the beach as where they were born.

Female turtles always pull over to the beach at night when the beach conditions are dark and silent. They will dig a few holes before deciding on a suitable location to lay their eggs. This is done to deceive the enemy.

Turtles can remove as many as 150 eggs in one spawn. The number of eggs depends on the species. The average for the loggerhead turtle and green turtle is about 100-110 ping-pong ball-sized eggs. Leatherback spawning about 90 eggs the size of a tennis ball.

All the turtle eggs are rough and soft. So it tends to dent and not break when falling to the egg hole. When finished, the turtle will close the hole, then go to the sea and will not return to see the eggs again.
