People of Lebanon

in #photography7 years ago

I was born in The United States to two Palestinian parents. Both were born in Palestine, but fled because of the war. This isn't a post about Israel vs Palestine, but rather a post that highlights glimpses of lives that at times, seem foreign to us.

My father and his family fled to Lebanon when my father was just a child. By chance he and my mother met and fell in love. I have never been able to meet my family on my father's side until I was 18 years old. Since then, I've been able to go to Lebanon three times to visit them. While there, I took photos of the people I encountered and captured a glimpse into their lives.

When I look at these photos, I forget about political strife and borders and individual egos. To me, it's comforting to forget about those things, even if it is for a moment. I hope these photos can do the same for you guys. Enjoy!
