This penguin was hiding in between the rocks, the one below was not so shy and was standing on the beach.
This photos were taken by me using my I phone, at Boulders Beach, South-Africa

Hi @sidwrites, I also haven't touched one, there are actually signs warning you to not try it as they can hurt you with that big beak of theirs.
Wow. I didn't know penguins were in South Africa
I have not seen them on any other beach, but on this beach there are quite a lot, they breed there.

How small are they?
I would guess about 60 cm tall.

Very nice post. Penguins are so cute. I just love the commercial of several little penguins being tucked into bed in some up scale hotel. Sorry can't remember which one. But its an adorable commercial. Now following you!

Hi @sallivan17, I don't know what is wrong. I use postimage.org to upload photos, then I copy the Markdown link (4th from the top) and paste it into stackedit.io, from where I copy my entire post and past it in Steemit. I paste my photo on the top of my post. I see you have also posted it on the top of your post. You can look at videos from @papa-pepper for new steemians for tips on posting.

There were quite a number of penguins on this beach. What is interesting that they were only this beach and on no other beach close by!!

Yes there are many, you are not allowed on the beach, but you can come very close to them, at some places they come up to against the fence.
ah ok, that's good that the beach is not open for the public :)
